Unit 1 Introduction to Information Technology

• Hardware and software
• Input & Output devices
• Storage devices
• RAM & ROM
• Computers at home and in business
• LAN & WAN
• Data Protection Act

Unit 2 Introduction to Data Entry

• Input alpha
• Numeric and special characters from the keyboard
• Input data at 15 wpm

Unit 3 Introduction to Word Processing

• Enter, edit and format text
• Spellcheck and proofread document and correct

Unit 4 Introduction to the Internet & Email

• Log on to the Internet and use search engines
• Send/receive e-mail
• Print e-mail and Internet page(s)

Unit 5 Introduction to File Management

• Identify the number of files in a directory/folder
• File size, date and time of last modification
